one-on-one consultation
A MedsCheck is a one-on-one consultation with a trained pharmacist which provides an in-pharmacy review of the medications you take.
It is an opportunity to discuss your medications and any concerns you may have, with the aim of the consultation being to:
- Identify any potential problems you may be experiencing with your medication;
- Provide more information about your medication including how to most effectively use them;
- Assess any unwanted effects that you may be experiencing from your medication.
You may be eligible to receive a MedsCheck free of cost if you meet the following criteria:
- Take five or more prescription medicines or
- Have recently experienced a significant medical event. Significant medical events are those events that have the potential to affect current medication adherence, understanding, or increase the risk of medication misadventure. This may include a new diagnosis, changes in health status, or medical interventions or
- Take a medication associated with a high risk of adverse events.
